Vesanto Melina is a Registered Dietitian who did her under graduate and graduate work at the University of Toronto and the University of London, England. She has taught nutrition at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and at Seattleās Bastyr University.
She is co-author of the joint position paper on Vegetarian Diets of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada. She is an internationally known speaker and regularly consults for government and industry and for individual clients from her office in Vancouver, Canada.
She is co-author of 10 books on vegan nutrition including Becoming Raw (with Brenda Davis) and The Raw Food Revolution Diet (with Cherie Soria and Brenda Davis), and the classic Becoming Vegan. Her books are in 15 countries and 7 languages.
